Heteroaggregation between particles modified by polyelectrolyte multilayers

The heteroaggregation of particles is interesting in many fields and particularly the field ceramic shaping. In general, obtained by mixing powders with opposite surface charges, which may require some cases modifications particles. Here we propose to study behavior suspensions composed a mixture positive negative created adsorption polyelectrolyte multilayers on their surface. Particular attention paid effect number layers adsorbed polyelectrolytes ionic strength. This shows that these allow, whatever layers, have absence salt. Moreover, depending addition salt has different suspension behavior. These phenomena can be explained screening effects already mentioned literature for unmixed modified multilayers. As consequence, this highlights systems very simple way analyze difficult observe non-mixed suspensions.
